Too hot to bake? No problem.
Oven doesn’t work? No problem.
You don’t even need to know how to bake to participate in the No Bake! Bake Sale benefitting the Humane Society of Williamson County.

Greetings!

Take part in a No Bake! Bake Sale. This is a unique opportunity for you to make an immediate impact, right now, today. It is our Humane Society of Williamson County no bake, bake sale. Your participation will directly benefit dogs and cats in need at the Humane Society of Williamson County.

What is a No Bake! Bake Sale?

What is a No Bake, Bake Sale and how do you take part? The best way to describe the event is to mention all of the things you do NOT have to do:

• You do NOT have to go grocery shopping
• You do NOT have to mix, bake, or cook anything
• You do NOT have to wash dishes or clean up
• You do NOT have to wrap or bag any baked goods
• You do NOT have to deliver or sell baked goods
• You do NOT have to buy baked goods

Even though this event has a lighthearted name…

…we are faced with the serious task of helping abandoned dogs and cats find forever homes. We are a private, No Kill shelter that found forever homes for over 2,000 dogs and cats in 2010. This year we are finding more homes and saving more lives, but need your financial support to help the dogs and cats in our community.

On average it costs $200 to prepare each animal for adoption. This includes the cost of vaccinations, spaying/neutering, food, shelter, and wellness care. As a private organization, we do not receive government funding and count on your generosity to help abandoned dogs and cats.

It is easy to do. Just go to our secure online donation page and select a donation level for the baked good that you would have made if this was a real bake sale. Remember, you don’t have to bake anything, just take action now by donating to our No Bake! Bake Sale.

Could a bake sale get any easier? I donated a couple “boxes of cookies” before I finished my first cup of coffee this morning and didn’t even have to leave the house or worry about calories. Of course, if you still feel the need to dirty a few dishes, you can make a contribution to the No Bake! Bake Sale and enjoy these easy recipes (also courtesy of my friends at HSWC) for yourself…

No-Bake Cookies
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup margarine
3 cups oatmeal
1 tsp. vanilla
6 tsp. cocoa
1 cup coconut

Bring sugar and margarine to a rolling boil for 2 minutes. Add vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients. Drop on wax paper, set & cool.

No-Bake Vanilla Wafer Cookies
6 oz chocolate chips
1/2 cups sugar
3 T corn syrup
1/3 cup orange juice
1 cup nuts (chopped)
7 oz pkg of vanilla wafers (crushed)

Melt chocolate. Add sugar, syrup, and juice. In large bowl, combine wafers & nuts. Stir in chocolate mixture. Form into balls.

No-Bake Peanut Butter Cookies
2 cups corn flakes
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Bring corn syrup & sugar to a boil in a saucepan for one minute, stir frequently. Remove from heat. Add peanut butter & vanilla. Add in corn flakes and mix well. Drop onto wax paper. Set & cool
